I went to the knitting and stitching show the other weekend (at Alexandra Palace). Good place to go if you want to feel young! Interestingly most of the customers were female (obviously) but many of the exhibitors were male - it's a competitive market tis knitting!
One thing I loved was Extreme Knitting - where they use huge needles to make larger items such as rugs. I bought myself some 12mm needles (easy tiger) and have started making a scarf in basket weave stitch (now I can purl properly - didn't know till last week I'd been doing a kind of twisted knit stitch instead!) with 8 strands of wool at the same time - good for using up oddments of yarn but I'm running out of the wool quite quickly!
